Error message - The device has been disconnected or is unavailable

If the error 'The device has been disconnected or is unavailable' is received, try the following;

- Try plugging the modem in to a different USB port. Allow a couple of miutes for the drivers to update.

- Uninstall and reinstall the modem driver \ connection manager software

- If the above doesn't work try uninstalling all the USB controllers.

Note: Please have all your USB hardware drivers available.

  • Disconnect your modem
  • Right Click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager.
  • Right-click on each entry in 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' and choose "uninstall".
  • Restart the PC. (Windows will reinstall the USB controllers)
  • Re-connect the USB modem to the first USB port. Windows will initialise the device.
  • If the device doesn't reinitialise try a different USB Port.
