By default the Huawei E585C is configured to work with the the mobile network operator that supplied the device. To use your unlocked E583C with a different network operator, the APN settings need to be changed. Below are instructions on how to change the APN settings
Make sure your E583C is connected to your PC and the connection manager software has successfully installed.
- Open the connection manager (or click http://192.168.1.1 if connected by WiFi)
- Login by entering the password (default password is 'admin')
- Under 'Settings' select Dial-up > Profile Management
- Select 'New' located at the bottom of the 'Profile Management' page
- ‘Profile Name’ – Anything you want (e.g. Vodafone Profile)
- ‘Connection Number’- *99# (set by default)
- ‘UserName’ – Your network operator’s username (Click here for details)
- ‘Password’ - Your network operator’s password (Click here for details)
- ‘Authentication’ - PAP
- APN - Your network operator’s APN (Click here for details)
- IP Address - Dynamic
- Click Save > Continue
- From the menu on the left select Dial-Up > Mobile Connection
- Select your new profile from the 'Profile List' drop down menu (e.g. Vodafone Profile)
- Click Apply
