Instructions to unlock the Huawei E586 Wireless Modem
- Remove the SIM card from your MiFi
- Connect the MiFi to a USB port on your Windows PC
- Install the connection manager software (installs automatically on first use).
- Wait several minutes after the connection software has installed.
- Reboot the computer.
- Make sure the E586 connection manager is fully CLOSED, not just minimised!
- Complete the instructions in the email from Unlocked Dongle. (Purchase E586 unlocking solution)
Solutions to common Huawei E586 unlocking problems
- Make sure the device is turned on
- Insert a SIM card from a different mobile network.
- Disconnect the USB cable then remove and replace the MiFi battery.
- Verify you have a working internet connection (this can’t be through the E586)
- Reboot the PC
- Connect the MiFi to a different USB port, allow a couple of minutes for the drivers to update.
- Close all programs you have open and temporarily disable any virus / firewall / security software you have running on your computer
- Temporarily disable the 'Huawei Mobile Connect - network adapter' in Windows network connections.
- If you connect to the internet via a router, firewall or proxy, try connecting directly to the internet or allow all outbound connections.
- Uninstall software \ drivers relating to any other modems that you have installed. Reboot and retry unlocking
